I have to admit, this was his best article so far, but after reading it twice and watching the video he referenced, I could not help asking myself: Does the writer seriously and sincerely believes that he has addressed the video he referenced and criticized in his article?!
Obviously and expectedly not, for the following two reasons:
First of all, the writer conveniently and selectively addressed only one (the third in the below list) of the following nine prophecies shared in the clip. That’s cheery picking, which is an error precursor for any academic research or study:
1- Barefoot Arab Bedouins compete in constructing tall buildings!
2- Mountains moved from their places!
3- Spread of sexual immorality and disease!
4- A world steeped in interest and difficulty to avoid it!
5- The defeat of Rome and the conquest of Persia!
6- Prevalence of writing!
7- Re-greening of the Arabia’s desert!
8- The rapid spread of Islam and the decline of the Muslims. Predicting the opposites that can’t be a guess: Increase in number of Muslims yet decrease in their power! Why didn’t Mohammed (ﷺ) predict decrease in numbers and decrease in power?! Muslims are weak but Islam remains as the fastest growing religion in the world (despite all wars waged by the writer, or perhaps because of such embarrassing wars)!
9- Mohamed (meaning the praised one, ﷺ) is the most praised in the history as predicted by Quran 94:4 ( وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ | and (We) elevated your renown for you). Note that not a second passes by on the planet Earth without Mohammed’s (ﷺ) name being praised through ‘Adhan’ or the call for prayer. Mohammed (ﷺ) is the most given name to new born, throughout the world. Note that Mohammed (ﷺ) never encouraged his followers to adopt his name!
Second of all, the writer conveniently avoided addressing the conclusion of the clip, which is an error precursor for any academic research or study. The reason is:
The writer said: “There are many instances of prophecies in the ancient world. They tend to use a similar style of striking imagery, contrasting language, extreme events, warnings of immorality and societal breakdown. They warn that the end is near and imminent. The prophecies of Muhammad correspond to this familiar pattern and contain nothing that could remotely suggest that only an Omniscient Divine Being could have revealed them.”
So, the writer is not denying the accuracy of the prophecy, but is indirectly, accusing prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) of coping from other sources. In claiming so, the writer didn’t split the Atom, as he is echoing those who Quran 16:103 addresses:
“وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٌۭ ۗ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِى يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِىٌّۭ وَهَـٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِىٌّۭ مُّبِينٌ”
“And We surely know that they say, “No one is teaching him except a human.” But the man they refer to speaks a foreign tongue, whereas this ˹Quran˺ is ˹in˺ eloquent Arabic.”
Question: Why did the writer avoid the conclusion of the clip he referenced?
Well, that’s smart but not honest!
The clip that the writer referenced concludes, that only an Omniscient Divine Being could have revealed the 9 prophecies to prophet Mohammed (ﷺ), because:
It is utterly impossible, that 1400 years ago, Mohammed (ﷺ) accurately prophesied future events that covers various nations and in different times, many of which are outside the Muslim influence, without making a single mistake!
In other words, the clip that the writer referenced is telling him and all those who falsely accuse prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) of copying from other sources:
It is utterly impossible, that 1400 years ago, Mohammed (ﷺ) accurately copied only those future events (predicted by others) that covers various nations and in different times, many of which are outside the Muslim influence, without making a single mistake!
Question:
Why didn’t Mohammed (ﷺ) copy false Prophecies?
Why Mohammed (ﷺ) only prophesized the topics that are relevant and important to us?
Last but not least, the writer said:
“Quite the contrary. It suggests that it will happen soon — possibly in the lives of those present, which again corresponds to hadith predicting the coming of the “Last Hour” in the lifetime of some of those present.”
That’s another smart but dishonest remark!
The writer probably knows, prophet Mohammed (ﷺ) did not mean what the writer claims above about the “Last Hour” and I can easily prove that with Quran and authentic Hadith. I challenged him to write a separate article on this topic and I will happily respond to it ان شاء الله (Allah welling).
So, if I were the writer, I would apologies to myself!
I pray to Allah to grant the writer and his loved ones, the best of this life and the life after. Amen!
